Improving Indoor Air Quality
Grime Stoppers uses the “Power of Light” to effectively help improve the indoor air quality by 30%-40% and in most cases greater than 50%. By applying PURETi to surfaces such as windows, window treatments, light fixtures and surrounding surfaces we can turn your home, office or automobile into an air scrubber constantly purifying the air you breathe. We can professionally apply PURETi to these surfaces and will guarantee results indoors for a minimum of three years or you can choose to do it yourself with our PURETi Fresh product which you can then incorporate into your deep cleaning cycles every 3-6 months. Either way the air you breathe will greatly improve.
Understanding Indoor Air Quality
Central to the understanding of indoor air quality is an understanding of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) present in the environment. The higher the level of VOCs, the lower the air quality— PURETi products continually reduce VOCs.
VOCs are emitted as gases from certain solids or liquids, such as paints and lacquers, cleaning supplies, pesticides, building materials and furnishings, copiers, printers, glues, adhesives, permanent markers, and photographic solutions.
Some of the most common VOCs that compromise air quality are:
- Formaldehyde—emitted by some laminated wall paneling and furnishings
- Methylene chloride—an animal carcinogen found in paint strippers, adhesive removers, and aerosol spray paints
- Benzene—a known human carcinogen found in environmental tobacco smoke, stored fuels and paint supplies, and automobile emissions in attached garages.
- Perchloroethylene—the chemical most widely used in dry cleaning
Concentrations of VOCs are consistently higher indoors (up to ten times higher) than outdoors.
